Contact Darkroom, Totnes

A busy summer and autumn ahead of me! In September, I will be joining Contact Darkroom in Totnes, South Devon, for a week to explore and experiment with the RA4 Colour Reversal development technique. This is something I have been wanting to learn for a long time now and I can't wait to see where it will take my practice next!

The Wash Estuary, GroundWork Gallery Residency 2026

King's Lynn, Norfolk

I am very excited to have been invited to join this year's GroundWork Gallery Residency group. Working alongside a number of artists, musicians, creatives and local hosts, I will be spending 3 weeks researching and responding to The Wash Estuary. This is a fascinating land-mass, skies and waters stretching across from Lincolnshire to Norfolk.

There will be a resulting exhibition of works in the autumn at various locations across the area... more information to follow.

The Greenhouse - Commission

Thomas Buxton Primary, London.

For the first half of this year, I have been busy with a permanent commission with Bow Arts Trust and Thomas Buxton Primary School in Whitechapel, London.

The project aims to celebrate and honour the passing of loved ones important to the school community and to hold a place for grief in a quiet, celebratory and special site in the school’s secret garden. Inspired by this year’s school focus of photography and also immersive storytelling and moments of wonder, the project has incorporated workshops with students, parents and staff, and culminated in the design and fabrication of a permanent immersive site- specific greenhouse. A space that can hopefully be enjoyed by the school community for years to come.

PADA 53 International Art Residency.

PADA Studios, Barreiro, Lisbon, Portugal.

In September 2025, I was part of Residency 53 at PADA Studios, a month long International Artist in Residency programme. PADA is located within the post-industrial park Companhia União Fabril (CUF)  in Barreiro, on the outskirts of Lisbon, Portugal.

As part of the residency, I researched and responded to the abandoned site, exploring directly with found materials. The residency allowed me time to consolidate themes and processes in my practice, alongside learning first hand about the Lisbon art scene, and meeting other inspiring international artists.

You can view my work on the residency here.

Bow Arts - Artist Spotlight

In August, for Bow Arts 30 year celebrations, I was invited to be part of their chosen Artist Spotlight interviews. Looking back over my 15 years collaborating with the Trust, I talk about the inspirations behind my own practice and the experience of working closely with the Learning Department as a Visual Arts Educator in London.

Experiments in Trajectory

Research Art Laboratory, Power House, Orford Ness Nature Reserve.

I have recently taken part in 2025's Research Art Lab at the Power House, Orford Ness, Suffolk, UK. The residency took place over a number of weeks where I responded to the unique landscape and heritage of the site through a series of performative drawing and pinhole photography. The work was inspired by the MOD heritage of the bomb trajectories and  flight paths on the Ness from 1930s to 1980s.

Power House is a new creative art lab led by University of Suffolk researchers and artists SE Barnet and Jane Watt in collaboration with Orford Ness National Nature Reserve and the National Trust.

There will be a series of open studio and public events happening alongside the Art Lab. To view more details visit: Orford Ness website.

Responses to Nature in an Urban Landscape.

Camden Arts Centre, in collaboration with  Maria Fidelis School.

In Spring 2025, I am working in collaboration with Camden Arts Centre and Year 9 students at Maria Fidelis Secondary School, in Euston, to explore various audio and visual responses to nature in an urban landscape. Students will be exploring the world around them through drawing, construction, photography and sound recordings and manipulations. The project is open ended and encourages students to gain confidence in their own creative experimentation, whilst also highlighting the importance that visual art can make to personal health and well being. There will be a student led outcome to the project which we will share in due course.
