The Bird Hide, 2018
RAW Labs, Royal Albert Wharf, London, E16.
Commissioned by Bow Arts in partnership with Notting Hill Housing.

The Bird Hide was picked as one of the highlights of the London Festival of Architecture, June 2018.

The Bird Hide was a semi permanent site-specific installation on the wharf at Royal Albert Docks, built in response to Sara's artist in residency at Bow Arts RAW Labs (Oct 2017 - Feb 2018).

Over the course of the residency Sara engaged with local residents, primary schools and university students through a series of practical hands on workshops. These focused on researching the history and geography of the local area through photography, printing and 3D making.
The final installation, a bird/plane hide, references the rich industrial, and natural history of the area, the changing landscape and ecology, as well as proximity to London City Airport.
