Found Objects
Studio 4: Artist in Residence, 2024
Chisenhale Art Place, London.

As part of a recent artist in residency at Chisenhale Art Place, Found Objects explores the boundaries of experimental analogue photographic developing processes using locally sourced found objects and their impact when they come into direct contact with photographic paper. The residency was inspired by the late photographer and collagist Nigel Henderson and his experimental photograms and collages of found objects in the local area, in the 1940s and 50s.
Sara documented and recorded found and collected objects and materials whilst walking the nearby streets and Hertford Union Canal footpath. Many of the objects were noticeably different to Henderson's collections. Instead of glass and rusting metal, the photograms record an abundance of plastic packaging.
